If you want a stabilized pocket camera for vlogging but don’t want to pay DJI money (or can’t easily buy DJI’s newest model where you live), the Feiyu Pocket 4 is one of the most interesting options launched this year. It costs $299 on FeiyuTech’s official store, and on paper it packs a 50MP 1/1.55-inch sensor, 4K/60fps video, a 3-axis mechanical gimbal, a large 2.64-inch touchscreen and 111GB of built-in storage.
To build this guide, we went through FeiyuTech’s full spec sheet, its official comparison against the Pocket 3, the product FAQ, and early independent coverage of the camera, then translated those numbers into what they actually mean when you’re filming and where the real trade-offs are.

Quick Overview
The Feiyu Pocket 4 is a one-piece handheld gimbal camera. It replaces the detachable, modular design of the Feiyu Pocket 3 with a sliding screen: slide the screen down and the camera powers on ready to shoot; slide it up once to lock the gimbal motors, and slide it up again to fully cover the camera head. Folded, it measures 140.5 × 52 × 31.7 mm and weighs about 205 g.

Key Features
Sliding screen that doubles as a lens cover
This is the Pocket 4’s signature design idea. According to FeiyuTech, magnetic sensing detects the slide, so opening the camera and starting to shoot is one motion. The two-stage close is practical for anyone who tosses a camera into a jacket pocket or bag: the first stage locks the gimbal, and the second covers the lens so you don’t need a separate protective case.

Bigger sensor than previous Feiyu Pockets
The jump from the Pocket 3’s 1/2.3-inch 12MP sensor to a 1/1.55-inch 50MP sensor is the biggest image-quality change. A larger sensor generally helps in dim indoor scenes and evening street shots. Stills go up to 8192 × 6144 pixels, and you can save JPG or JPG+DNG if you like to edit raw files.
111GB of internal storage
There is no memory card to buy or forget. FeiyuTech rates the storage at over 10,000 4:3 photos or roughly 875 minutes of Full HD video. The trade-off: once it’s full, you must offload footage (via the Feiyu Cam app over Wi-Fi, or USB-C to a computer) before you can keep shooting.
A screen you can actually frame on
At 2.64 inches, the display is far larger than the Pocket 3’s 0.42-inch camera screen. It natively shows 4:3 and lets you switch to 9:16 vertical or 16:9, which matters if you post to TikTok, Reels or Shorts. You can also rotate the camera 90° to enter vertical mode.
Face and subject tracking with gesture control
AI face tracking and tap-to-track subject tracking work directly from the touchscreen (earlier models needed the phone app). Four gestures handle hands-free solo shooting: an “OK” sign starts or stops tracking, an open palm takes a photo or starts recording, a double “L” sets a custom composition, and a double thumbs-up disables gesture control.
3-axis stabilization and 450° pan
A mechanical 3-axis gimbal smooths out walking and running shots, and the pan axis covers 450° of rotation (−100° to +350°) with a maximum controllable speed of 180°/s. Time-lapse (static, dynamic and motion), slow motion at 1080p/120fps and panorama photos are included.
Webcam and HDMI use
Per FeiyuTech’s FAQ, the Pocket 4 works as a plug-and-play USB webcam (it appears as a UVC camera), and the spec comparison lists HDMI output support. That makes it a reasonable two-in-one buy for anyone who also does video calls or streams.
Feiyu Pocket 4 vs Pocket 3 vs DJI Osmo Pocket 4
The most useful way to judge the Pocket 4 is against its predecessor and the camera it’s clearly targeting.

Versus the Pocket 3: the Pocket 4 is cheaper on FeiyuTech’s own store and upgrades the sensor, screen and storage. You do lose the Pocket 3’s detachable magnetic camera head, which some people used for mounting in unusual spots, and FeiyuTech rates the Pocket 3’s battery slightly longer (176 minutes at 1080p/30 vs about 150 minutes).
Versus the DJI Osmo Pocket 4: DJI’s camera is the more capable tool, with a larger 1-inch sensor, high-frame-rate 4K, 10-bit log profiles and autofocus. But it launched at €499 in Europe, and DJI has said it won’t be sold in the US while its FCC authorization is pending, so US buyers have been seeing gray-market listings well above that. If you’re in the US, or simply want a capable stabilized camera at roughly half the price, the Feiyu Pocket 4 is the more practical buy.
Who It’s For
- Beginner and casual vloggers who want gimbal-smooth walking footage without carrying a phone gimbal.
- Travelers who want a camera that pockets easily and protects its own lens. The 111GB of storage covers a typical trip without card juggling.
- Solo creators shooting vertical content, thanks to the 9:16 mode, on-screen tracking and gesture control.
- US buyers who want a pocket gimbal camera without paying gray-market DJI prices.
Who It’s Not For
- Close-up and product creators. The lens is fixed focus with no autofocus, so very close subjects (food, unboxings, makeup at arm’s length or closer) may not be sharp.
- Anyone who shoots in rain or near water. FeiyuTech states plainly that it is not waterproof.
- Audio-focused creators. Only FeiyuTech’s own wireless microphone accessory is officially supported; third-party mics aren’t.
- Color-grading enthusiasts and slow-motion fans, who will get more out of a 1-inch, high-frame-rate camera like DJI’s.

Pricing
The Feiyu Pocket 4 sells for $299 on FeiyuTech’s official store. The box includes the camera, a portable bag, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, a USB 3.0 Type-A to Type-C adapter and a manual.
According to the store’s shipping policy, orders over $90 ship free to the US, Canada, the UK and most EU countries from local warehouses, with a typical 3–5 business day delivery to the US. Other regions ship from China with added fees, and import duties are the buyer’s responsibility. The store also lists 30-day returns and replacements.
Optional accessories sold separately include an adjustable extension pole ($39) and a dedicated portable bag ($49).

FAQ
Does the Feiyu Pocket 4 have a microSD card slot?
No. It relies on 111GB of built-in storage. You transfer files via the Feiyu Cam app over Wi-Fi or with a USB-C cable.
How long does the battery last?
FeiyuTech rates it at about 2.5 hours at 1080p/30fps, about 1.8 hours at 4K/30fps and about 1.5 hours at 4K/60fps at room temperature. A full charge takes about 95 minutes.
Can it shoot vertical video?
Yes. Rotate the camera 90° or select the 9:16 format in video mode.
Does it have autofocus?
No. It uses a fixed-focus lens, which works well for typical vlogging distances but is less suited to very close subjects.
Can I use it as a webcam?
Yes. Connect it to a computer over USB-C and select it as a UVC camera in your video app.
Is it a good alternative to the DJI Osmo Pocket 4?
For most casual vloggers and travelers, yes, especially at roughly half the price and with straightforward US availability. Creators who need autofocus, a 1-inch sensor or 4K slow motion should still look at DJI.

Bottom Line
The Feiyu Pocket 4 doesn’t beat DJI on raw image quality, and it isn’t trying to. What it offers is a well-thought-out pocket gimbal camera, with a big screen, built-in storage, a self-protecting design and on-device tracking, at $299. That’s a price where most of the alternatives are phone gimbals. If you mostly film yourself, your travels or everyday moments at normal arm’s-length distances, it’s an easy recommendation on paper. If you need autofocus for close-ups or plan to color grade heavily, spend more.
